It’s that time of year again! You blink and the year is almost over (but at least we get to see it out with plenty of mulled wine and mince pies).

As always, we like to end our year by saying a heartfelt thank you to all of our incredible clients and the fantastic people we work with. We’re truly grateful for your continued business and hope to see you again in 2023 and beyond.

But it wouldn’t be us without some electrical safety tips, so here are a few quick things to remember over the festive season:

1. Always remember to switch off your Christmas lights before you leave the house - no one likes coming home to the fire brigade!

2. Make sure you’re using the right kinds of lights when decorating your home - double check that they’re made for using outdoors before buying or setting them up.

3. Don’t overload your outlets - if you’re creating a festive atmosphere inside, make sure you use lots of different plug sockets throughout the house, instead of just one.

4. Keep your drunk uncle away from the Christmas tree (just trust us).

5. Switch to LED lights instead of halogen - they’re cheaper, safer, and more energy efficient.

6. Avoid real candles in a busy home - the risk of household fires increases by 12% over Christmas, so stick to battery-operated candles instead.

7. Don’t be lazy, take down your Christmas decorations! Leaving your holidays decs up all year round might seem appealing, but they’re only made to be on temporary display. Taking them down will ensure the lights stay in good working condition and your home stays safe.

8. If you choose to ignore any of the above, call us! We’re here to help you with any electrical mishaps (and we promise not to judge).

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
