As a guide an average three bedroom house, consisting of a living room, dinning room, kitchen, three bedrooms and a bathroom is going to cost around £5,500 mark for a basic rewire.

When having your home rewired think of it as a blank canvas, you can have what you want and where you want it. If you want security camera’s and outside lighting this is the prime time to do it..

So what’s basic rewire?

A basic rewire is normally 4 double sockets per room, one light switch with a pendant light in the centre of the room, a double socket in the entrance hall and one on the upstairs landing, two way lighting on the stairs, a feed for the boiler, a light and an extractor fan in the bathroom. A heat alarm in the kitchen, smoke alarms in the hallways and landings.

But what if I want spotlights?

Spotlights are priced on a by point basis, the cost of these depends on type and design.

How long will it take?

A normal rewire normally takes around a week to complete.
